...but rather that she is the only thing which, though in very rapid motion, is also stable.

What can I say about earthing? I suppose I have been doing it for quite awhile longer than I knew it had a name. I called it 'grounding' or sitting outside, chilling or 'relaxing'. But then one day, a lovely person named Lena over at the Warrior Matrix orgonite forum turned me on to the term 'Earthing'.

Our bodies - each and every one of us - have a resonant frequency. This is proven by science; in fact here is an example of a subject similar to what I am posting about, note the diagram embedded in the discussion - http://physics.stackexchange.com/questions/37543/does-the-human-body-have-a-resonant-frequency-if-so-how-strong-is-it. Our bodies also want to harmonize with the frequencies around us. Until modern times, this was an easy thing to do as we all wore natural fabrics, leather shoes (or went barefoot outside), and spent plenty of time working and playing in nature. This means that our bodies were harmonizing with the earth -- the frequency that we cannot live without. (It's true - just ask the astronauts. This frequency, 7.83hz is called the Schumann resonance, and it is required for good health and longevity. Without it, our bodies begin to deteriorate.)

In our modern world we are no longer surrounded by the loving, healthy frequency of the earth -- instead we are constantly bathed in other, artificial frequencies. EMF pollution from cell phones, wi-fi, blue-tooth, cordless phones, electric smart-meters, radios, satellite communications, etc... all those frequencies surround us, all the time: when we are at school - where wi-fi is verging on 'mandatory' in classrooms these days, to the work-place, which cannot survive any longer without computers, printers, faxes, tablets, laptops, etc.

Because we are surrounded by these artificial frequencies all the time, we need to spend more time outside, with our feet on the ground, balancing ourselves, exchanging electrons with the earth! Sympathizing with the Schumann Resonance - putting our body back into the health frequency zone that we should be. The very best way to do this, of course, is to be outside, barefoot, walking around or sitting on the real ground... not the asphalt, not the concrete, but the beach! the grassy park! your own back yard. When was the last time you walked around outside barefoot? How often do you slide on those flip-flops? How often did you walk around barefoot when you were a kid? When exactly did we stop?

But we can't walk around barefoot all the time anymore - it's not considered acceptable behavior to walk into a store or restaurant without our shoes on :-) And obviously, we can't go to work without our shoes on, either (unless you're a lifeguard, I suppose?) So what does one do?

Buy some leather-soled shoes, of course. Leather is an organic component that doesn't block the flow of electrons like the common rubber and plastics that our modern shoes are made of. Even in the 80s, when I was a teenager, it was still quite common to find leather-soled sandals for summer wear, and leather-soled boots and shoes for the winter. Now-a-days, leather soles (insoles and outer soles) are hard to find - and when you do find them, they are expensive. I know -- I have been looking.

There are 'earthing shoes' to be had that are even more expensive than a regular pair of leather-soled sandals. I didn't want to invest a ton of money in shoes over the internet that I could not try on before I bought them. To me, $100 is a lot to pay for shoes that might not fit properly. So I began looking for alternative shoes that would have leather soles and be able to be worn to work. Because I work downtown, I walk a lot in the city, so shoes have to be comfortable, and because of the EMF smog in the city, I really need more grounding, earthing-action, than I used to when I worked on the outskirts of town. Believe me, I could see the difference -- and feel it -- when I first started working downtown. It was obvious - if I hadn't understood what was happening to my body and why, I might have panicked a little. But that's a story for another time.

So the alternatives I found were few and far between. I found that ballroom dancing shoes often have leather soles, but may not have leather insoles. They can range in price from $30 to $100, depending on the style and type... Ballet slippers would work for something like this of course - so if you have access to inexpensive leather ballet slippers, you could start with those.

I found leather sandals on Etsy.com - made in Greece - that were $50 a pair and I almost splurged and went with those... until I found (also on etsy) 'Dervish Slippers' or 'Sufi Slippers', also sometimes referred to as 'Barefoot Shoes'. I found them in a range of prices from $35 to $80. I found a pair of red ones (they remind me of little elf shoes!) for $35 + tax and those are the ones I got... I figured $35 was a price-point I was willing to take a chance on.

When I got them in the mail, they were cute, very RED, and snug on my feet - perhaps a little too snug. I was afraid the 'seams' inside would rub my toes and cause blisters, so when I wore them to work today, I put a spare pair of flats in my backpack, just in case. Well, I am very pleased to report that after wearing them into work - not only did they stretch to fit my feet perfectly, but I can definitely tell they are working.

I am very in tune with my body, and have been for awhile now - which is how I realized that I suffered from EMF sickness in the first place. Once that realization was made and I started doing things to mitigate the stress my body was under from the EMF pollution, I became even more in tune with it than before. So trust me when I say that I left work today feeling great. I wasn't stiff and sore like usual! I didn't feel like my batteries were drained, I even felt a slight tingling in my feet when I sat down in my chair this morning, like my limbs were finally waking up. All in all, it's too soon to say that $100 'earthing shoes' are worth the money, but I can tell you that today is 'day one' in my little 'Dervish Slippers' and so far -- I am very glad I took a chance on $35, soft-soled leather slippers from Turkey.
