Glasses saved my wordcount
I was having headaches -- I felt like my monitors were blasting me with shiny destructive rays like the sun... and the further into the week it went, the worse the headaches would get. By Friday, I could hardly do my day job at all without turning off my monitors every ten minutes and putting my head down on my desk. It was awful, and I had been managing to limp along for about two months, each week it was worse and worse, until finally, I got handed a big project and I despaired of what to do. Then a co-worker mentioned that my symptoms were the same as hers... and she got glasses. And they fixed her problems -- so hopeful, but not convinced, I went and got my eyes checked.
I have very good vision. BUT it turns out that I have an astigmatism in my right eye. An astigmatism is a mis-shaped cornea that interprets the frequency of light waves differently from a normal shaped cornea; my eyes were literally FIGHTING each other, trying to interpret the artificial light from my monitors (which makes sense why I felt like they were beating me with their death rays, and why walking over to the window in the break area and staring out into the sunlight did not affect me at all... only the artificial light did). So I now own a pair of prescription glasses... and I have worn them every day this week and you know what? NO HEADACHES THIS WEEK AT ALL. BOOM.
Finally, I can get my wordcount back up to where it is supposed to be because I can stand to sit in front of the computer when I get home from work again. So with that said: 60,327 on WIP 3. YEAH.
